[ARCHIVED] City Beach Swimming Closed - Swim Lessons Please Read

You can still enjoy City Beach Park area and rent watercraft, weather permitting, but the swim area has been closed until further notice.

To All Swim Lesson Participants:

As you may already know the water quality at City Beach is tested weekly.  This week the test showed that the ecoli levels are slightly elevated.  Occasionally this will happen when the weather has been hot and attendance is high at the beach.  We are testing the water daily now and anticipate it will go back to normal within the next few days.  Our primary concern is the health and safety of all participants using our facility so we will be closed until further notice.  For Wednesday July 26 all morning swim lessons will meet at the Community Center for Whales Tales and Safety which is part of the American Red Cross Learn to Swim curriculum. Evening lessons on Wednesday, July 26 and ALL lessons (morning and evening) on Thursday, July 27 will be held at Bender Beach which has also been tested and ecoli levels are not elevated.   Please refer to the City’s website at www.oconomowoc-wi.gov/parks under “News and Announcements” Friday morning for updates on the location/status of Swim lessons for Friday, July 28. We realize this may present some difficulties and appreciate your patience and understanding.  Please refer any questions to Oconomowoc Parks, Recreation, & Forestry Department at (262)569-2199.

Thank you.
