Oconomowoc is currently in a drought. Homeowners please water newly planted trees and street trees. Newly planted trees are trees that have been planted within the last 3 or 4 years. Approximately 10 gallons of water once or twice a week is a general rule of thumb for watering during moderate summer weather. You can also water until some seepage occurs on top of the ground and the soil is softened around the tree. When summer drought occurs, please water daily if possible, until the soil is soft around the tree. Similar to watering your grass, deep soakings are better than frequent shallow watering.
