2013 Spring Water Main & Hydrant Flushing

Oconomowoc Utilities will conducting water main flushing from April 22 to June 3.

The water main flushing program is designed to remove natural minerals that sometimes collect on the bottom of water mains. The flushing program may cause "red or cloudy" water. This mineralized water is not harmful to a person's health, but it may cause rust stains on light colored laundry.

Oconomowoc Utilities in partnership with Focus on Energy is launching a FREE Express Energy Efficiency Program for Oconomowoc Utility customers.

Focus on Energy, Wisconsin utilities' statewide program for energy efficiency and renewable energy is announcing the launch of its Express Energy Efficiency Program. Available to Oconomowoc Utility customers the first-of-its-kind program in Wisconsin will provide direct installation of certain energy efficiency products at no cost to qualified homeowners.

The program is available to residential customers that live in a 1-3 unit home, 50 percent of which must be heated by natural gas or electricity. Program participants are eligible to have the following products installed in their home for free:

Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs (CFLs)
High Efficiency Shower Heads
Water Saving Kitchen and Bathroom Faucet Aerators
Insulated Pipe Wraps
Water Heater Temperature Set Back Assistance
