Overview
The Engineering Department staff coordinates a wide variety of municipal projects. The department provides site plan review along with technical recommendations to residents, developers, consultants, and other city departments.

In addition, the Engineering Department:

• Approves plats of survey and zoning for residential building permits
• Approves stormwater management plans and stormwater maintenance agreements
• Assist with impact fees
• Enforcement of the city’s standard specifications
• GIS and other specialty maps
• Issues permits such as erosion control, right of way, and street opening permits

Permits Issued Through the Engineering Department

• Erosion control (I and II family new construction permits are issues through the building inspector otherwise a permit is issued by the Department of Public Works - Engineering)
• Right of way
• Street opening
